Remembering the Challenger and Columbia

Yesterday was the 19th anniversary of the Space Shuttle Challenger accident, and coming up this Tuesday is the second for the Columbia accident. It's a sad time for those of us who grew up, hoping, thinking we were gonna fly in one of those some day.

A little warning!

My lovely wife, Phoenix, pointed out that sometimes this blog gets a little salty! Oh, well! Like the warning at the beginning of the Michael Savage show, this blog contains "adult language, adult content, psychological nudity. Discretion is advised."

A little music, Maestro...

After a crappy week news-wise (Johnny Carson dying, some depressed asshat in Cali thinking those parallel lines were a good spot to park his Jeep, etc.), I thought we could use some real entertainment. Hit it, Frank!

Another anti-gun hypocrite!

Leeme see if I got this right...
Micheal Moore, big schmuck of the crock-umentary "Bowling for Columbine" has a armed bodyguard (who got his ass arrested in NYC), while espousing the disarmament of the common US citizen?
Wait, I think I see... It's his own small part to help the war; he's not buying one of those Hummer armor kits to cover his own big fat lying liberal ass so that it can be sent over to Iraq! Yeah, that's the ticket!

Actually, I think Ted Kennedy's a bigger hypocrite than Moore, since Tipsy gets to vote on laws, not just warp peasant's minds.

PS Here's a little more elloquent expounding from Confederate Yankee.

A good post from Kim du Toit

On what makes a proper Rifleman.

Happy Texas Confederate Heroes Day!

For all y'all others, it's the birthday of Robert E. Lee.

To find out how Southern your dialect is, look here.
Mine was 65% (Dixie). A definitive Southern score! :) (Thanks to Rebel With a Clue.)
And if you're offended that I merely mention the Confederacy, go read this editorial from J. J. Johnson in the Sierra Times from nearly 5 years back.

Go laugh at this

All the brilliant things I thought of blogging have faded away. :(
In the mean time, here's some online comics that I like:

Foamy the Squirrel: an approximately fortnightly animated cartoon.

Oh My Gods!: a "supposedly" daily comic strip.

Yes, they're irreverent, vulgar, Pagan, and damned funny!

My old place

In case you're wondering, I did dabble in blogging before now. And a little more recently here too.

I'm starting over here, although I think some of my stuff there is still valid for living today.

New blog

Welcome aboard. This is my very little corner of the Internet, where I'm gonna post the occasional thought and frequent link to someone else's more brilliant observations. I'm interested in Texas (duh!), guns, knives, the outdoors, and dogs. I reserve the right to post about these and other things as I see fit.
